April 5, 2026: LEMON Manuals is launched! Read the announcement.

Diagnostic Procedure

  1. Turn ignition on, with engine off. Using scan tool, check for DTCs. If DTC P0107 is set, diagnose DTC first. See DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE DEFINITIONS  . If DTC P0107 is not set, go to next step.
  2. Turn ignition off. Check BARO sensor harness connector for damage. BARO sensor is integral with airflow sensor and located in air intake hose. Repair or replace as necessary. After repairs, go to step  9 .
  3. Disconnect BARO sensor harness connector. Using a DVOM, check resistance between ground and BARO sensor harness connector terminal No. 5. Resistance should be less than 2 ohms. If continuity is as specified, go to step  6 . If continuity is not as specified, go to next step.
  4. Check ECM or PCM harness connectors. ECM or PCM is located behind glove compartment. Repair or replace as necessary. After repairs, go to step  9 . If connectors are okay, go to next step.
  5. Check BARO sensor circuit for open or harness damage. Check ECM harness connector C-119 (M/T) or PCM harness connector C-120 (A/T) for damage. Repair as necessary. After repairs, go to step  9 . If circuits or connectors are okay, replace ECM or PCM. After replacing ECM or PCM, go to step  9 .
  6. Check ECM harness connector C-115 (M/T) or PCM harness connector C-118 (A/T) for damage. Repair or replace as necessary. After repairs, go to step  9 . If connector is okay, go to next step.
  7. Check for open in BARO sensor circuit between BARO sensor harness connector and ECM harness connector C-115 (M/T) or PCM harness connector C-118 (A/T). Repair as necessary. After repairs, go to step  9 . If circuit or connector is okay, go to next step.
  8. Replace BARO sensor. Test drive vehicle following OBD-II drive cycle other monitor pattern. See OTHER MONITOR  under OBD-II DRIVE CYCLES under VERIFYING REPAIRS. Check for DTCs. If DTC P0106 is output, replace ECM or PCM. If DTC P0103 is not output, go to next step.
  9. Test drive vehicle following OBD-II drive cycle other monitor pattern. See OTHER MONITOR  under OBD-II DRIVE CYCLES under VERIFYING REPAIRS. Check for DTCs. If DTC P0106 is output, retry diagnostic procedure. If DTC P0106 is not output, inspection is complete.
