When the SRS-ECU detects a problem, it stores a diagnostic trouble code and the duration of the problem has lasted in the non-volatile memory. In addition, how often a diagnostic trouble code and duration are cleared by the scan tool are stored in the non-volatile memory as a reference for service work. The data which is stored can be read by the scan tool.
