Disassembly & Reassembly (Eclipse & Galant)

  1. Remove thermistor case and fuel gauge unit. See Fig 1. Remove packing and reservoir cup. Remove pump support assembly and "O" ring. Remove spring and pump harness. Remove lock bracket and fuel pump. Remove grommet, spacer and fuel filter.
  2. To reassemble fuel pump module, reverse disassembly procedure. Install NEW "O" ring and fuel pump grommet. When installing, apply gasoline to grommet and "O" ring to prevent them from being damaged or deformed.
