Disassembly & Reassembly (Outlander)
- Remove fuel tank pump gasket. See Fig 1. Disconnect fuel tank gauge unit connector. Remove fuel tank gauge unit. Disconnect fuel tank pump connector. Remove fuel tank pump housing and fuel tank pump return tube. Remove fuel tank "O" rings and fuel tank pump tube. Remove fuel tank pump bracket and fuel tank pump. Remove fuel tank pump cushion and fuel tank grommet. Remove fuel tank filter assembly. Remove fuel tank differential pressure sensor and differential pressure sensor "O" ring.
- To reassemble fuel pump module, reverse disassembly procedure. Install NEW "O" rings. When installing, apply gasoline to grommet and "O" ring to prevent them from being damaged or deformed.
