To activate the vehicle security system, the SECU must receive signals indicating the doors, hood and glass hatch are closed.

When a door is open, SECU terminals No. 1, 2 or 3 receives a ground signal from each door switch. When the hood is open, SECU terminal No. 6 receives a ground signal from terminal No. 1 of the hood switch, through body grounds "E13" (located underhood at front of left front fender) and "E41" (located underhood at front of right front fender).

When the glass hatch is open, SECU terminal No. 13 receives a ground signal from terminal No. 1 of the glass hatch switch, through body grounds "B11" (located behind left front kick panel), "B22" (located on left rear side of trunk) and "D210" (located on left side of hatch door).

When SECU receives "LOCK" signal from key cylinder switch or keyfob and none of the described conditions exist, the vehicle security system will automatically shift to armed mode.
