Vehicle Security System Alarm Operation

The vehicle security system is triggered by opening a door, opening the hood or the glass hatch, detection of battery disconnect and connect.

Once the vehicle security system is in armed phase, if the SECU receives a ground signal at terminal No. 1, 2, 3 (door switch), 13 (glass hatch switch) or 6 (hood switch), the vehicle security system will be triggered. The headlamps flash and the horn sounds intermittently.

Power is supplied at all times through 7.5-amp fuse No. 52, located in fuse and fusible link box, to horn relay terminals No. 1 and 3, through 10-amp fuse No. 54, located in fuse and fusible link box, to horn relay terminal No. 6, through 15-amp fuse No. 60, located in fuse and fusible link box, to left headlamp relay terminals No. 1 and 3, through 15-amp fuse No. 59, located in fuse and fusible link box, to right headlamp relay terminals No. 1 and 3.

When the vehicle security system is triggered, ground is supplied intermittently to headlamp (left and right) relay terminal No. 2 from SECU terminals No. 21 and 59, through SECU terminals No. 43 and 64. When headlamp relays (left and right) are energized and then power is supplied to headlamps (left and right). The headlamps flash intermittently.

When the vehicle security system is triggered, ground is supplied intermittently from SECU terminal No. 42, to horn relay terminal No. 2. When horn relays are energized, then power is supplied to horn. The horn sounds intermittently. The alarm automatically turns off after 50 seconds but will reactivate if the vehicle is tampered with again.
