Test Description

The numbers below refer to the step numbers in the diagnostic procedures.

    Comparing engine coolant temperature display on scan tool with actual coolant temperature, as measured with a thermostat. See ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR RESISTANCE table. If displayed engine coolant temperature is not close to actual temperature, replace ECT sensor. If engine coolant temperature is close to actual, check for intermittent problem. See DIAGNOSTIC AIDS .
