Variable Intake Manifold Solenoid Test

Variable Intake Manifold (VIM) solenoid test checks VIM solenoid for proper operation.
- Connect TECH 2 or equivalent scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC). DLC is located at lower left side of instrument panel, behind a small cover. Turn ignition on, and go to next step.
- on scan tool, select F3: MISCELLANEOUS TESTS. From application menu, select F6: VARIABLE INTAKE MANIFOLD SOLENOID, and go to next step.
- Follow scan tool directions to test VIM solenoid.
- If VIM solenoid tests as specified, testing is complete. If VIM solenoid fails test, test VIM solenoid. See VARIABLE INTAKE MANIFOLD SOLENOID in SYSTEM & COMPONENT TESTING article.
