Component Inspection

Mass Airflow Sensor 

  1. Reconnect disconnected harness connectors.
  2. Start engine and warm to operating temperature.
  3. Check voltage between ECM terminal No. 72 (Mass airflow sensor signal) for 2.5L and ECM terminal No. 62 (Mass airflow sensor signal) for 3.5L and ground, see Fig 1 - Fig 2 .
  4. If voltage is out of specification:
    • Turn ignition switch OFF.
    • Disconnect mass airflow sensor harness connector and reconnect it again.
    • Perform steps 2 and 3 again.
  5. If "NG", remove mass airflow sensor from air duct. Check hot film for damage or dust.
  6. If "NG", clean or replace mass airflow sensor.
