INSPECTION PROCEDURE 2: Accelerator Pedal Operation not Smooth (Over Acceleration): Diagnosis

STEP 1. Check the accelerator pedal.
Q: Is the accelerator pedal good condition?
1. YES : Go to Step 2.
2. NO : Replace the accelerator pedal (Refer to ACCELERATOR CABLE AND PEDAL ). Then go to Step 5.
STEP 2. Check the installation condition of the accelerator pedal.
Q: Is the accelerator pedal loose?
1. YES : Tighten, then go to Step 5.
2. NO : Go to Step 3.
STEP 3. Check the accelerator cable wiring.
Q: Is the accelerator cable routing bent sharply?
1. YES : Repair, then go to Step 5.
2. NO : Go to Step 4.
STEP 4. Check the accelerator cable lubricant.
Q: Is the accelerator cable lubricated sufficiently?
1. YES : Go to Step 5.
2. NO : Refill or replace the lubricant, then go to Step 5.
STEP 5. Retest the system.
Q: Does the accelerator pedal work normally?
1. YES : The procedure is complete.
2. NO : Return to Step 1.
