CHECK DIGIT ERROR MESSAGE DURING PCM VIN WRITING

Check Digit Error Message During PCM VIN Writing - 2005-on models. When using the MUT-III PC keyboard to enter a VIN during VIN programming, it must be done with the CAPS LOCK button depressed, so that all letters are in upper case. If you use lower case, you may receive the following error message: "Check Digit Error. The VIN writing was not performed because the check digit is invalid. Please input NEW VIN correctly and execute again."
