Steering Wheel Sensor Calibration
CAUTION:
If the work below is done, finally calibrate the steering wheel sensor. This is necessary because the TCL/ASC-ECU should update the steering wheel sensor neutral point.
- Front alignment adjustment
- Steering wheel sensor removal and installation
- TCL/ASC-ECU replacement
CAUTION:
Before carrying out the calibration, check if the steering wheel sensor-related diagnostic trouble code is set in the TCL/ASC-ECU.
Required Special Tools:
- MB991958: Scan Tool (M.U.T.-III Sub Assembly)
- MB991824: Vehicle Communication Interface (V. C. I.)
- MB991827: M.U.T.-III USB Cable
- MB991910: M.U.T.-III Main Harness A
- Park the vehicle on a level surface.CAUTION: To prevent damage to scan tool MB991958, always turn the ignition switch to the "LOCK" (OFF) position before connecting or disconnecting scan tool MB991958.
- Connect scan tool MB991958 to the data link connector.
- Turn the ignition switch to the "ON" position.
- Select "Steering Angle Sensor".
- Select "Special Function".
- Select "Steering Angle Sensor Calibration".
- Run "SAS Initialization". (Reusable parts only)
- Select and run "Calibration".
- Exit "Steering Angle Sensor" menu, and then select "ABS/ASC/ASTC".
- Select "Special Function".
- Select "Sensor calibration".
- Select "SAS calibration".
- Turn the ignition switch to the "LOCK" (OFF) position.
- Disconnect scan tool MB991958.
