Steering Angle Check

CAUTION: On vehicles with ASC, if the steering angle is adjusted, always carry out steering wheel sensor calibration (Refer to STEERING WHEEL SENSOR CALIBRATION ). This is necessary because the TCL/ASC-ECU should update the steering neutral point.
  1. Check that the wheel alignment is normal (Refer to WHEEL ALIGNMENT CHECK AND ADJUSTMENT ).
  2. Place the front wheel on a turning radius gauge and measure the steering angle.

    Standard value: 

    STANDARD VALUE SPECIFICATION

    Item 17-inch wheels 18-inch wheels
    Inner wheel 35°36' ± 2°00' (Left/right deviation within 2°00') 33°00' ± 2°00' (Left/right deviation within 2°00')
    Outer wheel (reference value) 30°00' 28°18'

  3. If not within the standard value, adjust the tie-rods (right and left), and repeat Steps  1 and  2.
  4. If the measured value exceeds the standard range by performing Step  3, replace the steering gear and linkage assembly (Refer to POWER STEERING GEAR BOX AND LINKAGE  ).
