Steering Angle Check
CAUTION:
On vehicles with ASC, if the steering angle is adjusted, always carry out steering wheel sensor calibration (Refer to
STEERING WHEEL SENSOR CALIBRATION
). This is necessary because the TCL/ASC-ECU should update the steering neutral point.
- Check that the wheel alignment is normal (Refer to WHEEL ALIGNMENT CHECK AND ADJUSTMENT ).
- Place the front wheel on a turning radius gauge and measure the steering angle.
Standard value:
STANDARD VALUE SPECIFICATIONItem 17-inch wheels 18-inch wheels Inner wheel 35°36' ± 2°00' (Left/right deviation within 2°00') 33°00' ± 2°00' (Left/right deviation within 2°00') Outer wheel (reference value) 30°00' 28°18' - If not within the standard value, adjust the tie-rods (right and left), and repeat Steps 1 and 2.
- If the measured value exceeds the standard range by performing Step 3, replace the steering gear and linkage assembly (Refer to POWER STEERING GEAR BOX AND LINKAGE ).
