Diagnostic Procedure
- STEP 1. Scan tool (M.U.T.-III) CAN bus diagnostics
Use the scan tool (M.U.T.-III) to diagnose the CAN bus lines.
Q: Is the check result normal?
- YES: Go to Step 2.
- NO: Repair the CAN bus lines. (Refer to CAN BUS DIAGNOSTICS TABLE .)
- STEP 2. Use scan tool (M.U.T.-III) to confirm a DTC of other systems.
Check if the ETACS-ECU stores a DTC.
Q: Is the DTC stored?
- YES: Diagnose the ETACS-ECU. (Refer to DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART )
- NO: Go to Step 3.
- STEP 3. ETACS-ECU coding data check
Using scan tool (M.U.T.-III), check if any abnormality is present in the coding data below which is stored in the ETACS-ECU.
Final drive
OK < FWD vehicles >: Front Drive
OK < AWD vehicles >: AWD FF Base
Q: Is the check result normal?
- YES: Go to Step 4.
- NO: Repair the coding data. If repair is impossible, replace the ETACS-ECU.
- STEP 4. DTC recheck
Check again if the DTC is stored in the TCM.
- Erase the DTC.
- Turn the ignition switch from the LOCK (OFF) position to the ON position.
- Check if the DTC is stored.
Q: Is the DTC stored?
- YES: Replace the TCM.
- NO: Intermittent malfunction.
