Diagnostic Procedure
- STEP 1. Scan tool (M.U.T.-III) CAN bus diagnostics.
Use scan tool (M.U.T.-III) to perform the CAN bus diagnosis.
Q: Is the check result normal?
- YES: Go to Step 2.
- NO: Repair the CAN bus lines (Refer to CAN BUS DIAGNOSTICS TABLE ). Then go to Step 3.
- STEP 2. Check whether the DTC is stored again.
Q: Is DTC No. C1707 stored?
- YES: Go to Step 3.
- NO: This diagnosis is complete.
- STEP 3. Scan tool (M.U.T.-III) other system DTC.
Check the ETACS DTC (Refer to DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART ).
Q: Is the DTC stored?
- YES: Perform the relevant troubleshooting.
- NO: Go to Step 4.
- STEP 4. ETACS-ECU coding data check
Using the scan tool (M.U.T.-III), check if there is the engine-related, transaxle-related, ASC-related abnormality to the coding data stored in the ETACS-ECU (Refer to CODING LIST ).
Q: Is the check result normal?
- YES: Go to Step 5.
- NO: Repair the coding data or replace ETACS-ECU. Then go to Step 7.
- STEP 5. Check the part number of ETACS-ECU
Check the part number of ETACS-ECU.
Q: Is the check result normal?
- YES: Go to Step 6.
- NO: Replace the ETACS-ECU (Refer to ETACS-ECU ), and then go to Step 6.
- STEP 6. Check whether the DTC is stored again.
Q: Is DTC No. C1707 stored?
- YES: Replace the AWC-ECU (Refer to AWC-ECU < Vehicles with S-AWC > ). Then go to Step 7.
- NO: Intermittent malfunction. (Refer to HOW TO COPE WITH INTERMITTENT MALFUNCTION ).
- STEP 7. Check whether the DTC is stored again.
Q: Is DTC No. C1707 stored?
- YES: Return to Step 1.
- NO: This diagnosis is complete.
