Engine Assembly Holding
CAUTION:
Since A and B in the illustration differ in height, adjust the height by using the washer (approximately 1.5 mm) at B before tightening the bolts to the specified torque.
- Tighten the engine hanger plate (special tool: MB992201) to the specified torque at A in the illustration (injector protector mounting bolt) and B in the illustration (vacuum pipe assembly mounting bolt).
Tightening torque: 20 ± 2 N.m (15 ± 1 ft-lb) (A in the illustration)
Tightening torque: 11 ± 1 N.m (98 ± 8 in-lb) (B in the illustration)
- Install the hanger (special tool: MB991527).
- (When engine hanger (Special tool: MB991928) is used)
- Assemble the engine hanger (Special tool: MB991928). (Set the components below to the base hanger.)
- Slide bracket (HI)
- Foot x 4 (standard) (MB991932)
- Joint x 2 (90) (MB991930)
- Set the feet of the special tool as shown in the illustration.NOTE: Adjust the engine hanger balance by sliding the slide bracket (HI).
- Set the chain to hanger (special tool: MB991527) to support the engine and transaxle assembly. Remove the garage jack and then remove the transaxle assembly upper part coupling bolts that have been loosened previously.
- Assemble the engine hanger (Special tool: MB991928). (Set the components below to the base hanger.)
- (When using engine hanger (Special tool: MB991895))
- Set the foot of the engine hanger (Special tool: MB991895) as shown in the illustration.NOTE: Slide the front foot of the engine hanger (Special tool: MB991895) to balance the engine hanger.
- Set the chain to hanger (special tool: MB991527) to support the engine and transaxle assembly. Remove the garage jack and then remove the transaxle assembly upper part coupling bolts that have been loosened previously.
- Set the foot of the engine hanger (Special tool: MB991895) as shown in the illustration.
