Troubleshooting Hints
- The radio and CD player may be defective.
- The hands free-ECU may be defective.
- The steering wheel remote control switch may be defective.
- The wiring harness or connectors may have loose, corroded, or damaged terminals, or terminals pushed back in the connector.
DIAGNOSIS
- STEP 1. Check the diagnostic test mode.
Check if the hands free-ECU can be switched to the diagnostic test mode. (Refer to STANDARD FLOW OF DIAGNOSTIC .)
Q: Is the check result normal?
- YES: Go to Step 2.
- NO: Perform Inspection Procedure 5 "DIAGNOSTIC TEST MODE cannot be made an entry." (Refer to Inspection Procedure 5: DIAGNOSTIC TEST MODE cannot be made an entry. Mobile Phone item is not displayed on the MENU screen of audio .)
- STEP 2. Operation check of the steering wheel remote control switch (audio remote control switch).
Check that the radio and CD player can be operated by the steering wheel remote control switch.
Q: Is the check result normal?
- YES: Go to Step 3.
- NO: Troubleshoot the steering wheel remote control switch.
- STEP 3. Check the steering wheel remote control switch (speech switch).
Check the continuity of the steering wheel remote control switch. (Refer to ON-VEHICLE SERVICE .)
Q: Is the check result normal?
- YES: Go to Step 4.
- NO: Replace the steering wheel remote control switch.
- STEP 4. Temporarily replace the hands free-ECU, and check the trouble symptom.
Q: Is the check result normal?
- YES: Replace the hands free-ECU.
- NO: Replace the radio and CD player.
