DTC U1197: Coding data unavailable: Diagnosis
- STEP 1. Using scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE), diagnose CAN bus line. CAUTION: To prevent damage to scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE), always turn the ignition switch to the "LOCK" (OFF) position before connecting or disconnecting scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE).
- Connect scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE). Refer to "HOW TO CONNECT THE SCAN TOOL (M.U.T.-IIISE) ."
- Turn the ignition switch to the "ON" position.
- Diagnose the CAN bus line.
- Turn the ignition switch to the "LOCK" (OFF) position.
Q: Is the CAN bus line found to be normal?
YES: Go to Step 2.
NO: Repair the CAN bus line (Refer to CAN BUS DIAGNOSTICS TABLE ).
- STEP 2. Using scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE), check whether the other system DTC is set.
Check if DTC is set in the ETACS-ECU.
Q: Is the DTC set?
YES: Diagnose the ETACS (Refer to DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART ).
NO: Go to Step 3.
- STEP 3. ETACS-ECU coding data check.
Using scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE), check if any abnormality is present to the coding data which are stored in the ETACS-ECU.
Q: Is the check result normal?
YES: Go to Step 4.
NO: Replace the ETACS-ECU.
- STEP 4. Using scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE), check whether the DTC is set again.
Check again if the DTC is set in the camera-ECU.
- Erase the DTC.
- Turn the ignition switch from the "LOCK" (OFF) position to the "ON" position.
- Check the DTC.
Q: Is the DTC set?
YES: Replace the camera-ECU (Refer to CAMERA ECU ).
NO: The trouble can be an intermittent malfunction (Refer to HOW TO COPE WITH INTERMITTENT MALFUNCTIONS ).
