INSPECTION PROCEDURE 11: The Intelligent Washing Function Does Not Work Normally: Diagnosis
- STEP 1. Check the ETACS customization function.
Use the ETACS-ECU customization function to check that the "Intelligent washer" is set to "Enable."
CAUTION: To prevent damage to scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE), always turn the ignition switch to the "LOCK" (OFF) position before connecting or disconnecting scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE).- Connect scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE). Refer to "HOW TO CONNECT THE SCAN TOOL (M.U.T.-IIISE) ."
- Turn the ignition switch from "LOCK" (OFF) position to "ON" position.
- Check how the ETACS customization function is set.
Q: Is the check result normal?
YES: Go to Step 2.
NO: Use the ETACS-ECU customization function to set "Intelligent washer" to "Enable." (Refer to DELAYED FINISHING WIPE FUNCTION INSPECTION .)
- STEP 2. Using scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE), read the ETACS-ECU DTC.
Check if DTC is set in the ETACS-ECU.
Q: Is the DTC set?
YES: Troubleshoot the ETACS (Refer to DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART ).
NO: Go to Step 3.
- STEP 3. Windshield wiper operation check
Check that the windshield wipers work normally.
Q: Is the check result normal?
YES: Go to Step 4.
NO: Refer to trouble symptom chart TROUBLE SYMPTOM CHART .
- STEP 4. Windshield washer operation check
Check that the windshield washer works normally.
Q: Is the check result normal?
YES: Go to Step 5.
NO: Refer to Inspection Procedure 10 "The windshield washer does not work INSPECTION PROCEDURE 10: THE WINDSHIELD WASHER DOES NOT WORK ."
- STEP 5. System retest
Check that the intelligent washer function works normally.
Q: Is the check result normal?
YES: Intermittent malfunction (Refer to HOW TO COPE WITH INTERMITTENT MALFUNCTIONS ).
NO: Replace the ETACS-ECU.
