DTC C1657: Implausible coding data: Diagnosis

  1. Confirm whether the value (LHD) of EPS-ECU coding item, "Item: Handle side (FOR EPS)", is suitable for the steering wheel position of the real vehicle or not. If it is not suitable, replace the EPS-ECU.
  2. Check the data list "Item No. 22: Steering wheel angle" and If there is an abnormality, perform troubleshooting for steering wheel sensor (Refer to HOW TO READ AND ERASE DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES ).
  3. Replace the EPS-ECU (Refer to TIE ROD END BALL JOINT DUST COVER REPLACEMENT ).
