DTC P0826: Malfunction of Shift Switch Assembly: Diagnosis
Required Special Tools
- MB992006: Extra fine probe
- STEP 1. Scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE) data list.
- Item 64: Manual mode switch
- Item 65: Select switch (Up)
- Item 66: Select switch (Down)
OK: The data list changes in response to the selector lever operation.
Q: Is the check result normal?
YES: Intermittent malfunction (Refer to HOW TO COPE WITH INTERMITTENT MALFUNCTIONS ).
NO: Go to Step 2.
- STEP 2. Shift switch assembly single unit check.
Refer to REMOVAL SERVICE POINT .
Q: Is the check result normal?
YES: Go to Step 3.
NO: Replace the selector lever assembly (Refer to TRANSAXLE CONTROL ).
- STEP 3. Check for open circuit or short to ground in MSW, UPSW, DWSW line between the selector lever assembly connector and the TCM connector.
Q: Is the check result normal?
YES: Go to Step 4.
NO: Repair the connector(s) or wiring harness.
- STEP 4. Symptom recheck after erasing diagnostic trouble code.
Q: Is the diagnostic trouble code set?
YES: Replace the TCM.
NO: Intermittent malfunction (Refer to HOW TO COPE WITH INTERMITTENT MALFUNCTIONS ).
