Check The Automatic High Beam System For Proper Operation

CAUTION:
  • An external factor may cause the headlight beams not to be switched. Prior to the diagnosis, refer to TROUBLE SYMPTOM CHART  Then take corrective actions if necessary.
  1. (1) Check the automatic high beam system for proper operation (low-beam to high-beam) 

    If all of the conditions below are satisfied, the system will switch the headlights from the low-beam to high-beam.

    • The vehicle speed is 40 km/h (24.9 mph) or more.
    • It is dark in front of or around the vehicle. (Darkness, under which the automatic lighting system turns on the headlights)
    • When there are no preceding vehicle or oncoming vehicles
    • When there are a few street lights (Including few tunnel lights)
  2. (2) Check the automatic high beam system for proper operation (high-beam to low-beam) 

    The system switches the headlight beams if any of the conditions below is satisfied.

    • The vehicle speed is less than 30 km/h (18.6 mph).
    • It is bright in front of or around the vehicle.
    • When the tail lights of a preceding vehicle or the headlights of an oncoming vehicle are turned on
    • When there are many street lights (Including many tunnel lights)
