How To Read And Erase Diagnostic Trouble Codes
Required Special Tools:
- MB992744: Vehicle communication interface-Lite (V.C.I.-Lite)
- MB992745: V.C.I.-Lite main harness A
- MB992747: V.C.I.-Lite USB cable short
- MB992748: V.C.I.-Lite USB cable long
NOTE:
If the battery voltage is low, diagnostic trouble codes will not be set. Check the battery if scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE) does not display.
- Connect scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE) to the data link connector.
- Turn the ignition switch to the "ON" position.
- Select "STV."
- Select "AT/CVT/A-MT/TC-SST."
- Select "Diagnostic Trouble Code" to read the DTC.
- If a DTC is set, it is shown.
- Choose "Erase DTCs" to erase the DTC.CAUTION:
- When the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) of the tran-saxle control module (TCM) is erased, the DTC of the engine control module (ECM) is also erased at the same time.
- If DTC (U0001) of the Malfunction of CAN communication circuit (Bus off) or DTC (U0100) of the CAN time-out error (Engine) is set as a current trouble to the TCM, CAN bus diagnosis or troubleshooting each DTC should be carried out since the DTC of TCM will not be erased.
