- The system detects a shorter range selection period than a certain value (N → D: 0.4 seconds, N → R: 0.3 seconds, P → R: 0.3 seconds) three times while all of the following conditions are satisfied.

- Fluid temperature: 20°C (-4°F) or more.
- Vehicle speed: 3 km/h (2 mph) or less.
- When all the conditions listed below are met and the forward clutch or the reverse brake is slipping for 30 seconds while driving forward or backward.
