Diagnostic Test

  1. CHECK FOR AN ACTIVE DTC 
    1. Turn the ignition on.
    2. With the scan tool, read DTCs.
    3. Test drive the vehicle in Sport Mode and verify proper operation.
    4. Turn the ignition on.
    5. With the scan tool, read DTCs.

      Is the DTC active at this time?

      Yes 

      • Go To  2

      No 

  2. CHECK RDM FOR MECHANICAL FAILURES 
    1. Turn the ignition off.
    2. Remove the Rear Driveline Module (RDM) Axle Shaft Actuator in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to appropriate service information .
    3. Visually inspect the RDM Axle Shaft Actuator and RDM for mechanical problems. Attempt to shift the RDM with a screwdriver to check operation.

      Where any problems found?

      Yes 

      No 

      • Go To  3
  3. REPLACE THE RDM AXLE SHAFT ACTUATOR AND CHECK FOR THE DTC TO RETURN 
    1. Replace the RDM Axle Shaft Actuator in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to appropriate service information .
    2. Turn the ignition on.
    3. With the scan tool, erase DTCs.
    4. Test drive the vehicle in Sport Mode and verify proper operation.
    5. Turn the ignition on.
    6. With the scan tool, read DTCs.

      Did the DTC return?

      Yes 

      • Replace the RDM in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to REMOVAL .
      • Perform the DTCM VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to DTCM VERIFICATION TEST .

      No 

      • The new RDM Axle Shaft Actuator repaired the problem.
      • Perform the DTCM VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to DTCM VERIFICATION TEST .
