Diagnostic Test

- CHECK FOR AN ACTIVE DTC
- Turn the ignition on.
- With the scan tool, read DTCs.
- Test drive the vehicle in Sport Mode and verify proper operation.
- Turn the ignition on.
- With the scan tool, read DTCs.
Is the DTC active at this time?
Yes
- Go To 2
No
- Perform the TESTING FOR AN INTERMITTENT CONDITION procedure. Refer to TESTING FOR AN INTERMITTENT CONDITION .
- CHECK RDM FOR MECHANICAL FAILURES
- Turn the ignition off.
- Remove the Rear Driveline Module (RDM) Axle Shaft Actuator in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to appropriate service information .
- Visually inspect the RDM Axle Shaft Actuator and RDM for mechanical problems. Attempt to shift the RDM with a screwdriver to check operation.
Where any problems found?
Yes
- Repair as necessary.
- Perform the DTCM VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to DTCM VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Go To 3
- REPLACE THE RDM AXLE SHAFT ACTUATOR AND CHECK FOR THE DTC TO RETURN
- Replace the RDM Axle Shaft Actuator in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to appropriate service information .
- Turn the ignition on.
- With the scan tool, erase DTCs.
- Test drive the vehicle in Sport Mode and verify proper operation.
- Turn the ignition on.
- With the scan tool, read DTCs.
Did the DTC return?
Yes
- Replace the RDM in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to REMOVAL .
- Perform the DTCM VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to DTCM VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- The new RDM Axle Shaft Actuator repaired the problem.
- Perform the DTCM VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to DTCM VERIFICATION TEST .
