Diagnostic Procedure

  1. STEP 1. Scan tool (M.U.T.-III) CAN bus diagnostics. 

    Use scan tool (M.U.T.-III) to perform the CAN bus diagnosis.

    Q: Is the check result normal? 

    YES  : Go to Step  2.

    NO  : Repair the CAN bus lines (Refer to - Diagnosis, CAN BUS DIAGNOSTICS TABLE ). Then go to Step  3.

  2. STEP 2. Check whether the DTC is stored again. 

    Q: Is DTC No. C1707 stored? 

    YES  : Go to Step  3.

    NO  : This diagnosis is complete.

  3. STEP 3. Scan tool (M.U.T.-III) other system DTC. 

    Check the ETACS DTC (Refer to - Diagnosis, DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART ).

    Q: Is the DTC stored? 

    YES  : Perform the relevant troubleshooting.

    NO  : Go to Step  4.

  4. STEP 4. ETACS-ECU coding data check 

    Using the scan tool (M.U.T.-III), check if there is the engine-related, transaxle-related, ASC-related abnormality to the coding data stored in the ETACS-ECU (Refer to - CODING LIST ).

    Q: Is the check result normal? 

    YES  : Go to Step  5.

    NO  : Repair the coding data or replace ETACS-ECU. Then go to Step  7.

  5. STEP 5. Check the part number of ETACS-ECU 

    Check the part number of ETACS-ECU.

    Q: Is the check result normal? 

    YES  : Go to Step  6.

    NO  : Replace the ETACS-ECU (Refer to - ETACS-ECU ), and then go to Step  6.

  6. STEP 6. Check whether the DTC is stored again. 

    Q: Is DTC No. C1707 stored? 

    YES  : Replace the AWC-ECU (Refer to AWC-ECU <VEHICLES WITH S-AWC> ). Then go to Step  7.

    NO  : Intermittent malfunction. (Refer to - HOW TO COPE WITH INTERMITTENT MALFUNCTION ).

  7. STEP 7. Check whether the DTC is stored again. 

    Q: Is DTC No. C1707 stored? 

    YES  : Return to Step  1.

    NO  : This diagnosis is complete.
