Module, Hands Free Liftgate: Removal: Sensor

  1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), disconnect the IBS connector first before disconnecting the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the rear bumper lower fascia. Refer to FASCIA, REAR, LOWER, REMOVAL .

  3. Disconnect the wire harness connectors (1) from the Hands Free Entry (HFE) liftgate module (3).
  4. Remove the fastener (2) securing the HFE liftgate module (3) to the HFE sensor bracket.
  5. Remove the HFE liftgate module (3) from the vehicle.

  6. Remove the fasteners (1) that secure the HFE sensor (2) to the bumper fascia (3).
  7. Remove the HFE sensor (2) from the vehicle.
