Module, Integrated Center Stack (ICSM): Removal

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2020 Jeep Cherokee. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
WARNING:

Disable the airbag system before attempting any steering wheel, steering column or instrument panel component diagnosis or service. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery (ground) cable, then wait two minutes for the airbag system capacitor to discharge before performing further diagnosis or service. This is the only sure way to disable the airbag system. Failure to follow these instructions may result in accidental airbag deployment and possible serious or fatal injury.

  1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), disconnect the IBS connector first before disconnecting the negative battery cable.

  2. Using Trim Stick (special tool #C-4755, Trim Stick) or equivalent, disengage the retaining tabs that secure the Integrated Center Stack (ICS) module (1) and remove the ICS module from the instrument panel.
  3. Disconnect the instrument panel wire harness connector (2) from the ICS module and remove the module from the vehicle.
