Module, Security Gateway (SGW): Removal

NOTE:

If this Electronic Control Unit (ECU) is being replaced with a new unit, use a diagnostic scan tool to perform the Flash Programming Procedure (if available). 

  1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), disconnect the IBS connector first before disconnecting the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the radio. Refer to RADIO, REMOVAL .
    NOTE:

    The Security Gateway Module (SGW) (1) is mounted to the instrument panel on a bracket behind the radio and, if equipped, the Emergency Assistance Module (EAM).

  3. If equipped with an EAM, remove the EAM. Refer to MODULE, EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE (EAM), REMOVAL  and MODULE, GLOBAL TELEMATICS BOX, REMOVAL .

  4. Remove the fasteners (2) and disconnect the SGW wire harness connectors (3).
  5. Remove the module from the vehicle.
