2023-2025 Outlander Plug-in Hybrid
CONCERN
The Outlander Plug-in Hybrid may set code C1BCC-97 in the Chassis Control Module with no explanation of the code. This code is not found in the Service Manual, but has been determined to be a code for a brake light error.
Recently this code was reported on a vehicle with an aftermarket tail-light. After installation of an OEM tail-light, the concern was resolved and the code did not return.
Another vehicle was also found with an aftermarket trailer hitch wired into the tail-light, resulting in code C1BCC-97.
