Feedback Carburetor System: Operation

The electronic control unit (ECU), which incorporates a microprocessor, receives impulses from various sensors and switches. On both systems, it controls the air/fuel ratio and fuel shut-off system. In addition, the ECU on MPG models controls the catalyst warm-up system and exhaust air induction system. On all other models, the ECU also controls the mixture heating system.
