Sentra (Federal)

  1. Visually check fuel shut-off system for proper installation of components and for proper routing of vacuum hoses and wires. Replace any broken switches.
  2. Connect circuit tester to the function check connector. Turn the ignition switch to "ON" position. Check for presence of voltage across G/B and B. Connect vacuum hose and connector.
  3. Start engine and warm to operating temperatures. Disconnect anti-dieseling solenoid valve connector or vacuum switch connector. Make sure that engine does not keep idling.
  4. If engine does continue to idle, replace anti-dieseling solenoid valve assembly. Connect voltage meter to Yellow wire between engine revolution switch and throttle switch.
  5. Set shift control lever in "N" position and run engine under no load. Increase engine RPM to check engine rev unit condition. If voltmeter indicates zero volts when engine RPM is above 1650 RPM, engine rev switch is correct. If not replace switch.
