Engine Idle Speed

Auxiliary Air Control (AAC) valve is used to control idle speed. Valve is operated by a vacuum signal from vacuum control modulator and works much like an EGR valve does. It allows extra air into throttle chamber, which increases idle speed. Control unit monitors speed with crankshaft angle sensor and continually corrects idle speed by operating vacuum control modulator.
