Fuel Temperature Sensor (Code 41)

  1. Disconnect 20-pin connector and measure the resistance between terminal 15 and ground. See Figure . When fuel temperature is below 68°F (20°C), resistance should be above 2100 ohms. When above 68°F (20°C), resistance should be below 2900 ohms.
  2. If resistance readings are okay, replace ECCS control unit. If not okay, check harness for continuity and repair if necessary. If harness is okay, measure resistance of fuel temperature sensor.

    68°F (20°C) 2.1-2.9
    122°F (50°C) 0.68-0.10
    176°F (80°C) 0.26-0.39
    212°F (100°C) 0.18-0.20
  3. If resistance readings are okay, replace ECCS control unit. If no good, replace fuel temperature sensor and pressure regulator as an assembly.
