Vehicle Speed Sensor (Code 14)

  1. Disconnect speedometer cable from transmission. Disconnect 16-pin connector from ECCS control unit and check continuity between terminal 29 and ground. See Figure . Slowly turn cable.
  2. An on-off pulse should be detected. Ignition switch should be on if vehicle has digital speedometer, off with needle-type speedometer. If no pulse, check harness and vehicle speed sensor. If pulse is good, replace ECCS control unit.
