If a 1987 Nissan 300ZX is having a cold start problem, check to see if the auxiliary air regulator valve has gone bad. We have replaced several of these valves to correct this problem, only to have the car come back some time later with the same symptoms. It turns out that several of the auxiliary air regulators that we got from the dealer were failing soon after installation.
