Feedback System

  1. Start engine and warm to operating temperature. Ensure idle speed and timing are adjusted to specification. Monitor Green LED on ECU while increasing engine speed to about 2000 RPM for 2 minutes under no-load condition.
  2. Number of flashes during a 10-second period should flash at least 5 times. Race engine 2 or 3 times and allow to idle. Enter self-diagnostic Mode II. Monitor Green LED and Red LED on ECU while increasing engine speed to 2000 RPM for 10 seconds under no-load condition.
  3. LED's should flash more than 5 times simultaneously during the 10-second period. If LED's do not respond as described, check idle mixture. See IDLE SPEED & MIXTURE in ADJUSTMENTS article in the ENGINE PERFORMANCE Section.
