Pressure Regulator Vacuum Relief (PRVR) Control Solenoid System Test (300ZX)

  1. Turn ignition on. Measure voltage between ground and PRVR control solenoid harness connector Black/Red wire. PRVR solenoid is located above front branch of left exhaust manifold (non-turbo) or near brake master cylinder (turbo). Battery voltage should be present. If battery voltage is present, go to step 3). If battery voltage is not present, go to next step.
  2. Turn ignition off. Check Green fusible link, located in fusible link box near battery. Check 10-amp fuse in relay box, located at left front corner of engine compartment. Check harness continuity between PRVR control solenoid and ignition switch. Check harness continuity between ignition switch and battery positive terminal. If continuity does not exist, repair circuit as necessary.
  3. Turn ignition off. Check continuity between ECM harness connector terminal No. 111 (Yellow wire) and PRVR control solenoid harness connector Yellow wire. See Figure and Figure . Continuity should exist. If continuity exists, check solenoid. See PRESSURE REGULATOR VACUUM RELIEF (PRVR) CONTROL SOLENOID TEST (300ZX). If continuity does not exist, repair or replace harness or connectors as necessary.
