Start Signal System Test (Pathfinder & Pickup)

  1. Locate ECM harness connector. ECM is located under passenger's seat. Measure voltage between ground and ECM harness connector terminal No. 34 (Black/Yellow wire). See Figure and Figure . Turn ignition switch to START position. Battery voltage should be present in start position ONLY. Zero volts should be present in any other ignition switch position.
  2. If voltage is not as specified, repair open in Black/Yellow wire between ECM and ignition switch. If voltage is as specified, check ECM and ECM harness connector terminals for correct installation, damage or corrosion. Repair as necessary.
  3. Turn ignition on. Perform Mode IV (switch check). Refer to TESTS W/CODES article. Ensure Red LED is on while ignition switch in START position. If Red LED is on, system is functioning properly. If Red LED is not on, repeat step 1).
