Overhaul - Re4F03V: Description
Transaxle consists of 4 main units: automatic transaxle, torque converter, differential assembly and Automatic Transaxle Control Unit (ATCU). ATCU electrically controls shifting functions. Automatic transaxle consists of forward clutch, forward one-way clutch, high clutch, low and reverse brake, overrun clutch, reverse clutch, brake band servo, accumulators and control valve assembly. See Fig 1. Transaxle incorporates a limited slip differential with viscous coupling.
The following electronic signals, sensors, switches and solenoids are used to control transaxle shifting. Refer to the ELECTRONIC COMPONENT & CIRCUIT TESTS for more information and testing:
- Engine Revolution Signal (Tach Signal)
- Transmission Fluid Temperature Sensor
- Inhibitor Switch
- Line Pressure Solenoid
- Lock-Up Solenoid
- Overdrive Switch
- Overrun Clutch Solenoid
- Mainshaft Revolution Sensor
- Shift Solenoids "A" and "B"
- Speed Sensor
- Throttle Position Sensor
- T.V. Valve
- Shift Lock System
