Idle Air Volume Learning: Preconditioning

Idle Air Volume Learning is an operation to learn idle air volume that keeps each engine running within specific range. Before preforming procedure ensure all following conditions are met:

Battery voltage more than 12.9 volts at idle.
Engine coolant temperature between 158-210°F (70-99°C)
Transmission in PARK or NEUTRAL.

NOTE: On vehicles equipped with daytime running lights, set light switch to first position to light only small lamps.

Electrical loads (air conditioner, headlamps, rear defogger) turned off.
Cooling fan motor not running.
Steering wheel straight ahead or neutral position.
Vehicle stopped.

NOTE: For automatic and manual transmission models, drive vehicle for ten minutes.

Transmission warmed up.
Learning procedure will be cancelled if conditions are missed, even for a moment.
