Idle Air Volume Learning: Preconditioning

Idle Air Volume Learning is an operation to learn idle air volume that keeps each engine running within specific range. Before preforming procedure ensure all following conditions are met:
- Battery voltage more than 12.9 volts at idle.
- Engine coolant temperature between 158-210°F (70-99°C)
- Transmission in PARK or NEUTRAL.
- Electrical loads (air conditioner, headlamps, rear defogger) turned off.
- Cooling fan motor not running.
- Steering wheel straight ahead or neutral position.
- Vehicle stopped.
- Transmission warmed up.
Learning procedure will be cancelled if conditions are missed, even for a moment.
NOTE:
On vehicles equipped with daytime running lights, set light switch to first position to light only small lamps.
NOTE:
For automatic and manual transmission models, drive vehicle for ten minutes.
