Setting the Vehicle Security System
- Disarmed phase
- When the vehicle is being driven or when doors or trunk lid is open, the vehicle security system is set in the disarmed phase on the assumption that the owner is inside or near the vehicle.
- Pre-armed phase and armed phase
- The vehicle security system turns into the "pre-armed" phase when hood, trunk lid and all doors are closed and locked by electronic key. The security indicator lamp illuminates for 30 seconds. Then, the system automatically shifts into the "armed" phase.
Canceling the Vehicle Security System
When the following 1 or 2 operation is performed, the armed phase is canceled.
- Unlock the doors with the electronic key or emergency Key.
- Open the trunk lid with the electronic key or emergency key. When the trunk lid is closed after opening the trunk lid with the electronic key, the system returns to the armed phase.
Activating the Alarm Operation of the Vehicle Security System
Make sure the system is in the armed phase.
When the following operation 1, 2 or 3 is performed, the system sounds the horn and flashes the headlamps for about 50 seconds.
- Engine hood, trunk lid or any door is opened before unlocking door with electronic key or emergency key.
- Door is unlocked without using electronic key or emergency key.
- Trunk lid is opened without using electronic key or emergency key.
