Possible Causes

Malfunction is detected when engine coolant temperature is excessively high under normal engine speed. Possible causes are:

• Defective cooling fan.
• Defective thermostat.
• Improper ignition timing.
• Defective Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor.
• Blocked radiator.
• Blocked front end (cooling openings covered or blocked by damage or aftermarket installation).
• Improper mixture ratio of coolant.
• Damaged bumper.
