Possible Causes
Malfunction is detected when engine coolant temperature is excessively high under normal engine speed. Possible causes are:
- Defective cooling fan.
- Defective thermostat.
- Improper ignition timing.
- Defective Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor.
- Blocked radiator.
- Blocked front end (cooling openings covered or blocked by damage or aftermarket installation).
- Improper mixture ratio of coolant.
- Damaged bumper.
