DTC Confirmation Test (Using CONSULT-II)

  1. Start engine and warm to normal operating temperature. Select DATA MONITOR mode with CONSULT-II. While holding engine speed at 2000 RPM, observe HO2S1 (B1)/(B2) voltage with CONSULT-II. Voltage should go above 0.70 volt at least once. Voltage should go below 0.21 volt at least once. If voltage is as specified, go to next step. If voltage is not as specified, go to DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE  .
  2. Let engine idle for at least 5 minutes. Maintain the following conditions for at least 50 consecutive seconds:
    • B/FUEL SCHDL: 4.0 msec or more (on 2.4L models) or 2.0 msec or more (on 3.3L models).
    • ENG SPEED: 1800-3000 RPM (on 2.4L models) or 1500 RPM or more (on 3.3L models).
    • VHCL SPEED SE: more than 44 MPH.
    NOTE: If DTC P0134 and/or P0154 is displayed on CONSULT-II during this test, go to appropriate test. If engine speed of 3600 RPM (2.4L models) or 2800 RPM (3.3L models) is exceeded, return to step  2 .

    If DTC is detected, go to DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE  . If DTC is not detected, system is okay at this time.
