Fuel Rails & Injectors: Installation

Install NEW "O" rings on injectors and lubricate with clean engine oil. Install injectors to fuel rail. Align protrusion on fuel injector with protrusion on fuel rail. See Fig 1. Install NEW injector retaining clip. Install fuel rail. Tighten fuel rail bolts (in 2 steps) to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . To complete installation, reverse removal procedure.

  1. To install, clean injector exterior. Install NEW "O" rings on injectors and lubricate with clean engine oil. Install injector into fuel rail. Install fuel injector retaining clips, always use NEW clips.
  2. Install fuel rail assembly. Tighten fuel rail bolts (in 2 steps) to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . To complete installation, reverse removal procedure. Pressurize fuel system and check for fuel leaks.
