Key Switch (Insert) Check (Column Shift)

- CHECK KEY SWITCH INPUT SIGNAL
With CONSULT-II
Check key switch "KEY ON SW" in DATA MONITOR mode with CONSULT-II. Refer to "DATA MONITOR ".
- When key is inserted to ignition key cylinder:
KEY ON SW : ON
- When key is removed from ignition key cylinder:
KEY ON SW : OFF
Without CONSULT-II
Check voltage between BCM connector M18 terminal 37 and ground.

VOLTAGE BETWEEN BCM CONNECTOR M18 TERMINAL 37 AND GROUND REFERENCEConnector Terminal (Wire color) Condition Voltage (V) (+) (-) M18 37 (B/R) Ground Key is inserted. Battery voltage Key is removed. 0 OK or NG
- OK : System is OK.
- NG : GO TO 2.
- When key is inserted to ignition key cylinder:
- CHECK KEY SWITCH (INSERT)
- Turn ignition switch OFF.
- Disconnect key switch connector.
- Check continuity between key switch terminals 3 and 4.KEY SWITCH TERMINAL 3 & 4 CONTINUITY REFERENCE
Terminals Condition Continuity 3 - 4 Key is inserted. Yes Key is removed. No
OK or NG
- OK : GO TO 3.
- NG : Replace key switch.
- CHECK KEY SWITCH CIRCUIT
- Disconnect BCM connector.
- Check continuity between the BCM harness connector M18 terminal 37 (B/R) and key switch harness connector M80 terminal 4 (B/R).
- Check Continuity Between BCM Harness Connector M18 Terminal 37 (B/R) And Ground.
37 (B/R) - 4 (B/R) : Continuity should exist
37 (B/R) - Ground : Continuity should not exist
OK or NG
- OK : Check the following.
- 10A fuse [No. 19, located in fuse block (J/B)]
- Harness for open or short between key switch and fuse
- NG : Repair or replace harness.
