Upper Instrument Panel: Installation

  1. INSTALL UPPER INSTRUMENT PANEL SUBASSEMBLY 
    1. Detach the 13 claws to install the upper instrument panel.
    2. Install the 5 screws and 2 bolts.

      Torque: 18 N*m (184 kgf*cm, 13 ft.*lbf) for Bolt

  2. INSTALL PASSENGER AIRBAG CONNECTOR 
  3. INSTALL FRONT PILLAR GARNISH LH (w/o Curtain Shield Airbag) (See  INSTALLATION  ) 
  4. INSTALL FRONT PILLAR GARNISH LH (w/ Curtain Shield Airbag) (See  INSTALLATION  ) 
  5. INSTALL FRONT PILLAR GARNISH RH (w/o Curtain Shield Airbag) 

    HINT:

    Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side.

  6. INSTALL FRONT PILLAR GARNISH RH (w/ Curtain Shield Airbag) 

    HINT:

    Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side.

  7. INSTALL GLOVE COMPARTMENT DOOR STOPPER SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Attach the claw to install the glove compartment door

  8. INSTALL GLOVE COMPARTMENT DOOR ASSEMBLY 
    1. Attach the 4 claws to install the glove compartment door assembly.
    2. Slightly press in on the upper sides of the glove compartment door assembly to engage the 2 stoppers.

    3. Connect the glove compartment door stopper to the glove compartment door assembly.
  9. INSTALL NO. 1 RADIO BRACKET 
    1. Install the No. 1 radio bracket with the nut and screw.

  10. INSTALL NO. 2 RADIO BRACKET 
    1. Install the No. 2 radio bracket with the nut and screw.
  11. INSTALL HEATER CONTROL AND ACCESSORY ASSEMBLY 
  12. INSTALL UPPER CONSOLE PANEL 
    1. Install the clamp and console panel.
    2. Connect the connector.

    3. Attach the 6 claws to install the console panel.

  13. INSTALL SHIFT LEVER KNOB SUB-ASSEMBLY (Manual Transaxle) 
    1. Turn the shift lever knob clockwise and install the shift lever knob.
  14. INSTALL COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Connect the connector.
    2. Attach the 2 claws to install the combination meter.
    3. Install the screw.

  15. INSTALL METER HOOD SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Attach the 9 claws to install the meter hood.
  16. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

  17. PERFORM INITIALIZATION 
    1. Perform initialization (see INITIALIZATION ).
      NOTE: Certain systems need to be initialized after disconnecting and reconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
  18. CHECK SRS WARNING LIGHT 
    1. Check the SRS warning light (see DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM ).
