Circuit Description

PCM monitors various sensors to determine engine operating conditions. PCM controls fuel delivery, spark advance, transmission operation and emission control device operation based on sensor inputs. PCM provides a sensor ground to all sensors. PCM applies 5-volts through a pull-up resistor, and determines status of following sensors by monitoring voltage present between 5-volt reference and resistor:

Fuel Vapor Pressure (FVP) sensor.
Throttle Position (TP) sensor.
Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) sensor.

PCM provides following sensors with a 5-volt and sensor ground:

Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) valve.
A/C Pressure sensor.

PCM monitors separate feedback signals from these sensors to determine their operating status.
