Removal & Installation: Generator

  1. Disconnect negative battery terminal.
  2. Drain engine coolant.
  3. Remove air cleaner and air duct assembly.
  4. Disconnect automatic transmission cooler hoses. Install blind plug in cooler hoses to avoid leakage of ATF.
  5. Disconnect radiator upper and lower hoses from radiator.
  6. Remove lower radiator shroud. Release the tabs, pull lower radiator shroud rearwards and down to remove. See Fig 1 .
  7. Remove upper radiator shroud. See Fig 2 .
  8. Remove drive belt. See DRIVE BELT  .
  9. Remove lower bracket.
  10. Remove generator upper bolt.
  11. Disconnect generator electrical harness connectors.
  12. Remove generator.
  13. To install, reverse removal procedures. Check drive belt tension.
