Key Warning Chime Does Not Operate (With Intelligent Key, When Intelligent Key Is Carried With The Driver)

CHECK WARNING CHIME OPERATION
Check the chime under conditions in exception of key warning chime (when Intelligent Key is carried with the driver) operation.

Does warning chime sound?
1. YES: GO TO 2.
2. NO: Go to "ALL WARNINGS ARE NOT OPERATED " or "KEY WARNING CHIME AND LIGHT WARNING CHIME DOES NOT OPERATE (SEAT BELT WARNING CHIME DOES OPERATE) ".
CHECK INTELLIGENT KEY UNIT SELF-DIAGNOSIS
Perform the Intelligent Key unit self-diagnosis. Refer to "CONSULT-II FUNCTIONS ".

OK or NG
1. OK: GO TO 3.
2. NG: Check the applicable parts.
CHECK INTELLIGENT KEY UNIT INPUT SIGNAL
With CONSULT-II
1. Select "INTELLIGENT KEY".
2. With "DATA MONITOR", confirm "PUSH SW" when the ignition knob switch is operated. Refer to "CONSULT-II FUNCTIONS ".
  1. "PUSH SW"
  2. When ignition knob switch is pushed: ON
  3. When ignition knob switch is withdrawn: OFF

Without CONSULT-II

Check voltage between Intelligent Key unit harness connector M34 terminal 27 (L/W) and ground.
1. 27 (L/W) - Ground
2. When ignition knob switch is pushed: Approx. 12 V
3. When ignition knob switch is withdrawn: Approx. 0 V
OK or NG
1. OK: Replace Intelligent Key unit. Refer to "REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION OF INTELLIGENT KEY UNIT ".
2. NG: GO TO 4.

CHECK IGNITION KNOB SWITCH POWER SUPPLY CIRCUIT
1. Disconnect key switch and ignition knob switch connector.
2. Check voltage between key switch and ignition knob switch harness connector M22 terminal 1 (L/R) and ground.
  1. 1 (L/R) - Ground: Battery voltage
OK or NG
1. OK: GO TO 5.
2. NG: Check harness between key switch and ignition knob switch and fuse.

CHECK IGNITION KNOB SWITCH
Check continuity between key switch and ignition knob switch connector M22 terminals 1 and 2.
1. 1-2
2. When ignition knob switch is pushed: Continuity should exist.
3. When ignition knob switch is withdrawn: Continuity should not exist.
OK or NG
1. OK: GO TO 6.
2. NG: Replace key switch and ignition knob switch.

CHECK IGNITION KNOB SWITCH CIRCUIT
1. Disconnect Intelligent Key unit connector.
2. Check continuity between Intelligent Key unit harness connector M34 terminal 27 (L/W) and key switch and ignition knob switch harness connector M22 terminal 2 (L/W).
  1. 27 (L/W) - 2 (L/W): Continuity should exist.
3. Check continuity between Intelligent Key unit harness connector M34 terminal 27 (L/W) and ground.
  1. 27 (L/W) - Ground: Continuity should not exist.
OK or NG
1. OK: Replace Intelligent Key unit. Refer to "REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION OF INTELLIGENT KEY UNIT ".
2. NG: Repair harness or connector.
